Pinguicula calderoniae grows long carnivorous leaves during the Spring and Summer seasons, and turns back to a succulent bulb for Fall and Winter rest.
Care Instructions
Light: Bright light in a southern facing window or LED grow lights
Water: Leave plant sitting in at least 1 inch of distilled or low mineral water during Spring and Summer seasons. Allow plant to dry out between waterings during Fall and Winter seasons
Soil: A 50/50 mix of perlite and/or crushed pumice and pure silica sand
Temperature: 50 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
Feeding: Finely crushed insects or fish food every 3-4 weeks during the Spring and Summer seasons. The leaves can also be fed with a diluted water and fertilizer solution.
Dormancy: Reduce watering and shorten light cycle to 8 hours to induce succulent state. Let soil dry out completely between waterings in succulent state.
