Pinguicula gracilis is a butterwort from the Mexican state of Nuevo León. The leaves can vary from green to red in coloration depending on light intensity. It produces white flowers.
Care Instructions
Light: Bright light in a southern facing window or LED grow lights
Water: Leave plant sitting in at least 1 inch of distilled or low mineral water during Spring and Summer seasons. Allow plant to dry out slightly between weekly waterings during Fall and Winter seasons.
Soil: A 50/50 mix of perlite and/or crushed pumice and pure silica sand
Temperature: 50 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
Feeding: Finely crushed insects or fish food every 3-4 weeks during the Spring and Summer seasons. The leaves can also be fed with a diluted water and fertilizer solution.
Dormancy: None. Reduce watering and shorten light cycle to 8 hours to induce succulent state.
